How to Growth Hack Your Way to Recurring Revenue

I’m about to give you maybe the most valuable piece of content you’ll read all year.

No joke!

Pick a niche, any niche and let’s roll!

In a nutshell, you’ll be creating an irresistible front-end offer utilizing the free plus ship model to drive leads and sales.

Once the traffic hits your front-end offer they will be presented with a “bump” offer to add a monthly newsletter for just $4.99/mo.

If they take it with your initial front-end offer then you’ve killed two birds with one stone which is as good as it gets.

If they don’t take it with your front-end offer then they’ll be represented with it again as an up-sell on the very next page in your sales funnel.

If they pass on it at that point you will follow-up through emails that are highly focused on the features and benefits of your monthly newsletter and will hopefully capture them as subscribers down the road.

The trick to this entire process is being able to find the perfect front-end offer that converts well enough to either break even on the amount of money you’re paying to drive traffic to your sales funnel or of course to make a profit.

The key here is to find a product that fits your niche to a “T” for as low a cost as possible.

This usually achieved best by looking for your product at AliExpress.com.

Once you find your super sweet and totally irresistible front-end offer you’re now in business.

Don’t worry about creating your first monthly newsletter until you’ve found a high converting front-end offer and until someone or someones have actually signed-up for the monthly newsletter.

When both of these criteria are met, then you can focus your efforts on developing the first issue of your newsletter.

Now your newsletter does not have to be 100% unique.

There’s no need to create all the content yourself or from scratch to make this worth the $4.99/mo.

But rather curate the content to A) make your work easier and B) give people exactly what they want.

This newsletter should contain 5-10 topics in the niche that’s of some sort of value to the reader.

The newsletter will usually be about 2-3 pages in length and should have a nice professional look and feel to it in PDF format.

The retention rate on this type of subscription model is so high due to the fact that the price point is so low.

It’s just like your Netflix subscription of $7.99, now $9.99, where you don’t think twice about cancelling it ever if you never use it.

Also by providing a low monthly fee, the barrier to entry is reduced to almost no barrier since it’s so ridiculously reasonable.

Another trick of the trade to retain subscribers is tease upcoming content and/or to offer free products or giveaways once a month to your subscriber base.

Once you get this sales funnel dialed in it can easily make you more and more money each month as you’ll be adding more and more subscribers to your newsletter than you’ll be losing.

This is truly a sustainable online business model that doesn’t require a lot of work and can give you the laptop lifestyle you maybe seeking.

So will you be using this monthly newsletter business model to diversify your income stream?

How to Land Clients Using Dead Simple Foot in the Door Strategies

Foot in the door strategies are easier than you think.

The best way to land clients is to build trust and there’s no better way to do it than to create an irresistible offer that they cannot refuse (and if they do they’re bat sh*t CRAZY!).

Now there’s several ways to go about this, in fact I create a product a few years ago called Offline Marketing Evolved CAM (Client Acquisition Method) and it was centered around offering a PLR (private label rights) book that was roughly 175 pages in length or so that was completely generically written for a specific niche i.e. chiropractors, dentists, real estate agents, etc.

I would basically take a few minutes to brand the book on the potential clients behalf so that they could see what it would look like with their picture on the cover and their name as the author.

I then would use a print on demand service and drop off a physical copy at their office.

This tactic would all most always get me an opportunity to sit down with the client and talk about all the things I could do to help them out with their digital marketing needs.

Like I previously mentioned there are several ways to skin a cat so to speak…

Recently a Digital Marketer by the name of Lee Cole just put out a product to make it brain dead simple to offer writing press releases for potential clients.

You can checkout my review of his product entitled Press Release Empire at my digital product review site.

Whether either of those options tickle your fancy or not…Not to worry there’s plenty of other great foot in the door strategies to offer.

Another great idea is to offer a super simple and scalable service such as offering to post content on a potential client’s Facebook fan page.

Once you have content created for once niche you can easily rinse and repeat with the only work you need to do is schedule out the page posts.

OK, ok you twisted my arm and I’ll give you one more strategy…

Last, but certainly not least you could offer to write up monthly newsletters for a potential client.

Again this is a completely scaleable service because you write 12 newsletters in one niche you can offer it over and over again to as many potential clients in that niche as you can find.

These last two ideas are great because you can charge as little as $99 per month to provide each of them so it makes it a no-brainer for the client to say yes while providing the business with a ton of value that they could never get anywhere else for that little bit of money.

Are we doing all of this just to make $99 per month per client?

Absolutely and unequivocally NO.

What we’re trying to do here is build trust while providing value so your potential clients can get to know, like and trust you.

Once they know, like and trust you can you easily up-sell them on other services you provide and turn them into a $1000 or even a $1500 per month client.

Obviously this is this just the tip of the iceberg and you can think of many, many more ways to provide some sort of offer/service that can land you a client.

Please let me know what foot in the door strategies you’re using to land clients in the comments below.

Chatbots: What They Are and Why You Need Them

It’s all the craze these days in digital marketing…

What is it???

Chatbots!

In case you don’t know what a chatbot is it’s more or less an automated system that allows you communicate with people on Facebook Messenger.

There’s many new companies which have recently popped up in the market such as ManyChat.com, MiniChat.com, ChatKit.com, etc.

If you’re on any of the lists of the following marketers then you’ve already been exposed to chatbots: Dr. Ben Akins, Shawn Anderson, Anthony Morrison, Alex Becker, Ryan Deiss (DigitalMarketer.com), etc.

And I’m sure there’s hundreds if not thousands more that are using them.

It seems every marketer is getting in the game and for good reason.

The open rates and click through rates are much, much higher than traditional means like email marketing.

Now does that mean they’re giving up on email marketing?

Absolutely not!

But why not give yourself a chance to reach out to your audience through other means?

It can only help get your message out.

And at the end of the day that’s the only thing that matters.

So should you also start using one of those services I listed above?

Absolutely!

Why not also partake in the fun and help yourself or your clients better reach the intended audiences.

Now the question is which of those services to use…

From my own experiences it seems the service of choice has been ManyChat.com.

So unless one of the other ones tickle your fancy, I suggest going with the crowd as there must be a good reason that they have all chosen ManyChat.com.

But I advise you do your research and pick the service which is best for you and your business needs.

I will soon be utilizing chatbots and I’m likely going to also go with ManyChat.com.

If you have any experience already with chatbots, please leave a comment and let me know what you’ve used and what you think of it.

How to Get People Looking For Your Services Directly Into Your Inbox

Last week I talked about how to successfully start a Social Media Marketing Agency.

Today I want to take that concept a bit further and cover how you can use a free service to have hot leads looking for the service(s) you provide delivered directly into your inbox.

In case you’re not already aware, there’s a service called IFTTT.com (If this then that).

Like I mentioned earlier IFTTT is a completely free service for creating what they named “recipes”.

These recipes allow you to create many, many different tasks.

Honestly the potential for what you can do with IFTTT is practically endless.

I don’t want to get into to many details about the possibilities, but I do want to cover one particular recipe that I use day in and day out to consistently find new clients for my Social Media Marketing Agency.

The recipe I speak of is very simple.

You select classifieds for “this.”  Then click on “New post from search” button.

Head over to Craigslist.org and click on “jobs” and type in “social media” (in quotes) and click search.

Now click in the URL and copy the entire URL and paste it into the “Search results URL” and click “Create trigger” button at IFTTT.com.

Next click on “that” and select “Gmail” square and on the next page click on “Send an email” button.

Enter your “to address” of where you want to receive your updates and click on the “Create action” button.

I recommend you rename it like “[City] Social Media (jobs)”, replace [City] with the city you are in or are targeting.

Then go back to Craigslist.org and select “gigs” from the dropdown box.

Once the page refreshes click on the URL and copy it again then go back to IFTTT.com and repeat the process above, but this time label your recipe “[City] Social Media (jobs)”.

Rinse and repeat for the next location.

I currently have the top 40 cities in America setup like this and my inbox is flooded with alerts everytime someone posts a new post on Craigslist.org with the keyword “social media”.

Granted you will get a fair share of email alerts with posts from Craigslist that are complete garbage and have absolutely no relevance to the service(s) you provide.

Unfortunately people like to include the keyword “social media” in listings where the job or gig has virtually nothing to do with social media.

I promise if you do this with 40 cities or more you inbox will constantly be full of potential clients looking for what you have to offer.

So go set this up now and then come back here and leave a comment with how well it’s worked out for you. 🙂

How to Launch a Successful Social Media Marketing Agency

Today I’m going to talk about how to launch a successful social media marketing agency.

If you’re new or a veteran to running your own marketing agency you’ll want to take some notes as the information I’m about to share here can help you be more successful in your business.

A great way to get started is by hyper focusing your business on offering just one or two services that give potential clients two things: customers and/or profits.

Often times businesses offer too many services which presents a problem when trying to scale.

Let’s say you’re a jack of all trades, but when it comes to hiring additional help you now need to find someone that possesses all the exact same skills you have in order to be able to work with all the clients you don’t have time for.

This presents a couple problems…

First it’s almost impossible to find the right talent that can replace you.

Secondly, in all likelihood you’ll have to pay a premium for them to come to work for you which may not be in your budget and even if it is you’ll be sacrificing additional revenues to pay a higher salary, which in turn cuts your profits.

A better solution is to keep things simple and dialed in.

Offer one service like Facebook Retargeting Ads and then screen record all the steps you take to deliver the service to a client and use it as a training tool that can be used over and over again to train new hires.

And now instead of having to pay high salary to one individual you can higher just about any competent individual at a much lower pay grade who can apply what they learned from your training video(s).

Oh and by the way this should go without saying, but by staying highly focused on one service and delivering results will help you retain clients for the long haul.

You’re probably asking yourself, “That sounds great but how do you get clients when you’re brand new to the business?”

Great question!

Go to job sites like Indeed.com, Monster.com, Craigslist.org and search for job titles like “Social Media Manager” or “Social Media Coordinator.”

These are prime for the picking!  They’re already raising their hands and saying they need someone to help with their social media marketing.

This is the perfect way to kick start your business.

You’ll just have to refine your pitch to convince them that using your business is the best option for them to achieve the results they desire.

Hopefully this blog post has given you a few tips that will help you launch your social media marketing business and be more successful with it.

Please leave a comment below and let me know how things go in your business.

How to Get Pinterest Website Traffic

Pinterest has almost been a forgotten social network, but it’s making a comeback in a big way through Pinterest website traffic

Pinterest may be the best source of website traffic on the planet.

As great as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are at helping you gain exposure to your business/brand, none of them are great at driving traffic to your website.

Those social networks tend to keep the users on their respective sites/apps looking for the next post from their friends/family or the next viral video or image.

However with Pinterest it’s more of a site where people are looking for particular things they are interested in.  And it just so happens that those things are linked directly back to the site in which they came from.

So that means Pinterest users are not looking for the next post or next viral video or image, but instead seeking out what they’re searching for.

The majority of the time Pinterest users are looking for something they have a particular interest in and when they find it they’re happy as a clam that they can now go directly to the source to learn more about that interest or make a purchase.

So can you to Pinterest setup an account pin a bunch of photos/images from your website and then magically get 100,000 visitors to your website over the next 12 months?  The short answer is no.

Unfortunately it’s a process and it takes time to build up your followers on Pinterest and unless you have a ton of time to go and follow everyone who’s in your niche it’s not going to be effective.

So how do you get the traffic from Pinterest then?  The short answer Pinterest Group Boards.

The first step is to get 50-100 followers to your Pinterest account.

Step two is to find Pinterest Group Boards in your niche and then apply to join those group boards.

Once you get into those group boards then when you pin your content the group boards you belong to, those users in the groups will then be notified of those pins and because those group boards are in your niche your pins will resonate with those audiences and drive those users to re-pin your pins giving you exponential reach thus driving boat loads of traffic to your website.

If you’d like to learn more about the exact strategies and techniques to drive traffic from Pinterest to your website I recommend you checkout my review of Traffic Rebirth.

Case Study: How I Generated Over 12,000 Video Views In Less Than 12 Hours Without Any Audience or Subscribers

Last week I wrote a blog post about how to get your YouTube videos to go viral.

One of the ways to “go viral” is to capitalize on trending topics.

Last night during the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns game, Isaiah Canaan had a horrific/gruesome ankle injury and of course the broadcast on ESPN would NOT show any replay of the injury so I knew that if I were to put up a video on YouTube about it that it would get views.

But…

There’s a couple key components that I implemented that others have not and although my video does NOT have the most video views it is ranking extremely well for several keywords because of the techniques I implemented from last week’s blog post.

The first thing I did was make sure my title had most of the keywords that people would be searching for.

The second thing I did was to add all the tags I could with those same long tail keywords that I thought people would be searching for.

And finally the last thing I did was added a thumbnail that shows the injury up close and added the big bold words over the image to ensure I get your attention.

Now you’ll find some other videos got way more video views than I received, however they’re bigger channels with thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of subscribers so naturally when they post a new video they get a lot of organic views.

My channel at the time of this writing only has 12 subscribers (6 subscribers before I posted the video) so 100% of my views came from showing up in the YouTube search results.

My video is currently ranking 8th when you simply enter “isaiah canaan.”

Here’s a complete list of keywords and my current rankings for each keyword:

isaiah canaan – 8th
isaiah canaan ankle – 3rd
isaiah canaan injury – 5th
isaiah canaan leg injury – 3rd
isaiah canaan leg – 5th
isaiah canaan ankle fracture – 4th
isaiah canaan leg fracture – 5th
isaiah canaan horrific ankle injury – 2nd
isaiah canaan horrific ankle leg injury – 2nd
isaiah canaan broken ankle – 9th
isaiah canaan broken leg – 12th
isaiah canaan horrific broken leg – 3rd
isaiah canaan horrific broken ankle – 3rd
isaiah canaan horrific fracture – 2nd
isaiah canaan horrific ankle fracture – 2nd
isaiah canaan horrific leg fracture – 2nd
isaiah canaan horrific ankle leg fracture – 2nd
isaiah canaan fracture – 4th
isaiah canaan gruesome injury – 2nd
isaiah canaan gruesome ankle injury – 2nd
isaiah canaan gruesome ankle leg injury – 1st
isaiah canaan gruesome fracture – 1st
isaiah canaan gruesome ankle fracture – 2nd
isaiah canaan gruesome leg fracture – 2nd

As you can see my video is currently ranking extremely well which is why I am receiving the amount of views that I am.

In fact every time my video moves up or down in the rankings I see a significant boost to the total amount of views in very short period of time.  Likewise when my video fell in the rankings last night I would not receive hardly any views.  Pretty obvious, right?!

Anyone can do this if you are following along with trending topics/news and can be one of the first to “break the news” so to speak.

Hopefully my case study as given you some additional insight into how to get your YouTube videos ranking and viewed to go viral.

How to Get Your YouTube Videos Tons of Views and Your Channel Subscribers

If you’ve tried to use YouTube in the past then you know that just posting videos on YouTube doesn’t usually result in getting a ton of views/likes or generate subscribers to your channel.

But I’m here to tell you that’s all about to change.

There’s really only four factors that will get your videos viewed and in turn help you gain subscribers to your YouTube channel.

First you must either copy an idea from another viral video or create a video around a hot or trending topic.

Now when I say “copy” I don’t mean to make an exact duplicate of their video or even steal their video.

What I mean is that you use the idea behind their video as inspiration to create your own unique spin on the topic.

The other option is to pay close attention to trending topics and then quickly create your videos around them.

Because when something is trending everybody is searching for results pertaining to that particular hot topic, thus exposing your videos and channel to the masses.

Secondly you must create controversial titles for your videos.

You must capture your audiences attention and almost nothing works better than a headline/title that peaks people’s interest.

Some will go as far as using clickbait tactics to draw in viewers.

Third you must use custom thumbnails for your videos.

The formula here is to use some text in a very large font over half of the thumbnail.  Usually using white text on a black background works best to convey to the audience what your video is all about.

The other half of your thumbnail should be an image of yourself or of the topic itself.

Typically the more outlandish/outrageous the image is the higher the CTR (click-thru rate) will be.

The higher the CTR, the more your videos will show up at the top of the YouTube search results, the more views you get, the more it shows up in the search results…Eventually going viral!

Last, but certainly not least it’s been proven that your videos will get even better search results if people consistently watch at least 8 minutes of your video before tuning out.

So in order to achieve this you must provide what I like to call “valuetainment”.  Yep I just invented that term (I think?).

What exactly is “valuetainment”?

It’s the combination of providing value while at the same time being entertaining.  Not exactly rocket science I know…

But it’s vitally important that you hook your audience in and grab them by the… so that they stick around and watch your video for at least 8 minutes.

Implement these four factors the next time you are wanting to post a video to YouTube and I can almost guarantee you will see instant results.

How will you “valuetain” your audience on YouTube? 🙂

How to Grow Facebook Fan Pages to Millions of Likes

No matter what niche you’re in or what type of business you run this blog post about how to grow Facebook fan pages applies to you.

Whether you already have an established Facebook fan page or are just getting started you’ll want to learn what I’m about to share with you.

If you’re new to social media marketing you’ll want to first setup your Facebook fan page and grow it as large as you can.

From my experience it’s easiest to build your following on Facebook first simply because it’s the largest and they offer a way for you to quickly gather likes/follows through very cheap “like ads”.

In fact you can always get likes to your pages for a single penny per like or less!

I’ve personally seen likes for as little as $0.001, although it’s rare and becoming increasingly more expensive as more and more advertisers continue to be entered into the mix.

As of this writing, I can consistently get likes for $0.01 each no matter what my Facebook fan page is about or even what images or copy I use in my ads.

The trick to getting the cheapest likes possible is to target worldwide without any interests and without changing any of the demographics (i.e. age, gender, etc.).  However I do tend to ensure that everyone who likes one of my pages can speak/read English.

Now while these are usually folks from tier 2 and tier 3 countries (tier 1 countries consist of United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand) these are real people and not fake likes or bots.

If you want to get your likes to even less than $0.01 each you will have to exclude the United States for sure and possibly the other four tier 1 countries mentioned above.

Now you might be asking yourself, “Why would I want all of these likes/follows from tier 2 and 3 countries?”

The answer is social proof!

It’s natural for people to typically will follow what others do.  So if you have a lot of likes/followers on your Facebook fan pages then when your page gets exposed to tier 1 traffic at some point they’re much more likely to click the “like” button than if your Facebook fan page has only a few likes/followers.

It’s a common case of “FOMO”, or fear of missing out.

I’m sure if you think about it for a second you’ve done it yourself.  I know I have…

Plus you must also realize that just because the majority of your likes/followers are from tier 2 and 3 countries does not mean that they’re worthless or don’t share an interest to your Facebook fan page.  They can be just as valuable as someone from the tier 1 countries.

Since you can get all of these likes/followers for so cheap you may be tempted to spend a lot of money in a short period of time…

However I recommend you only spend $1 per day per Facebook fan page at least in the beginning and here’s why.

When you spend less you gain less likes/followers per day and it looks more natural and realistic.

Once my pages get to 10,000 likes/followers I like to bump my daily budget up to $2 per day.   But it’s completely optional and not necessary by any means.

Below are the guidelines I usually stick to:

0 – 9,999 (likes/followers) = $1/day

10,000 – 19,999 (likes/followers) = $2/day

20,000 – 49,999 (likes/followers) = $3/day

50,000 – 99,999 (likes/followers) = $4/day

100,000+ (likes/followers) = $5/day

By the way, you don’t usually have to pay for likes/followers forever.  There’s usually a tipping point to your pages depending on niche and content being posted, that your pages will grow organically simply by the fact that your audience will like/share your content.

The absolute best way to get your pages to grow organically is by being active and engaging with your audience when they like, comment, and share.

This is a lot of work for one page, let alone multiple pages.

That’s where my new business, Reach Fanatics, comes in…

We can handle everything mentioned about about your Facebook fan page for one low monthly fee.

If you have any questions on how to grow Facebook fan pages please don’t hesitate to ask and post your question(s)/comment(s) below.

What is Native Advertising and How is it Different from Traditional Ads?

We will define what native advertising is in second…

But first…

Let’s define what native advertising is NOT…

It’s not ad banners, pop-up ads, social ads, etc. which present a clear offer.

But rather it’s form and function matches that of the platform it’s being presented on.

It’s still created with the intent to be an advertisement with the goal of presenting an offer, however it’s more subtle and is less direct.

Disguised if you will…

By the way there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a direct ad which contains a clear offer.

However most people prefer to not be bombarded with in your face ads.

Actually there is, it’s the fact that the click through rates are not very good and have been on the decline since 2008…

So there’s a clear benefit to using native ads because they usually will deliver some sort of value before selling you something.

Native ads just don’t get ignored like traditional ads because they don’t look like ads.

They provide content that everyone is seeking out, stuff that informs, inspires, and entertains.

Basically native ads are a hybrid of traditional ads and content marketing mashed up.

There’s services like Outbrain and Taboola that specialize in delivering native ads on large sites like CNN, NBC News, etc.

However you can get started on your own by utilizing social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube.

The trick is to make your ad look like it’s simply sharing some good content of value which is what we all expect to see in our social accounts.

25% of consumers are more likely to view a native ad and 18% of consumers will convert better from a native ad than from a traditional ad.

So I think it’s pretty clear how much of an advantage you gain from running native ads over traditional ads which present a clear offer.

How are you using native advertising in your business?
