Start With This Social Network to Grow Your Following and Build Your Influence

Whether you have any following on social media or not you’ll want to start with building up your Facebook Fan Page first and foremost.

Why?

Simple…Because Facebook has the largest audience of any social network.

Plus it’s the easiest and the fastest social media network to get likes/followers on to build up your social proof.

Social proof believe it or not, will influence others to make their decision for them as whether or not to follow and/or like your social media accounts.

This concept hearkens back to the idea of “cliques” where people feel the need to be a part of something more or bigger.

No one wants to be the first “Liker” or follower…But after you have thousands, hundreds of thousands or even millions of likes/followers it will be easier to attract more likes/followers and you will grow exponentially by reaching more and more people when you post.

The best way to grow you Facebook Fan Page is to use a worldwide boost or worldwide likes engagement ad.  It’s going to grow your page the fastest and it doesn’t matter if the majority of your likes are coming from India or Nigeria a like is a like a follow is a follow.  They’re all real people who really like and follow you.  They may not be your target demographic, but they are perfect for your social proof.

Once you grow your page to around 10,000 likes/followers then you can start to narrow your target audience down to the folks you really want to attract and market your product or services to.

I recommend you build up all your social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat) to around 10,000 followers.

So you’re probably wondering just how to build up the other social networks…

The short explanation is that you will promote your other social network accounts to the followers/likes of your Facebook Fan Page.

You can accomplish this by simply telling people to follow you on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube or Snapchat  through various content posts.  You can use scarcity by running specials or giveaways during specific time frames that require your audience to take action on those other social networks in order to take advantage of your offers.

It’s going to be easiest to get followers on Twitter and Instagram and you’ll find it more difficult to get followers on YouTube and Snapchat.

Snapchat will be especially hard if you’re attempting to build an audience from an older crowd since Snapchat is geared more towards a younger audience.

“Going Live” on Facebook or YouTube can be utilized to build that scarcity so that your audience will be rewarded for viewing you live and taking the specific actions you want them to take (i.e. following you on Twitter, Instagram, or Snapchat).

To build a highly engaged audience you must provide as much value as possible when you post on all of your social media networks.

Growth Hack Email Marketing – How to Get the Absolute Most Out of Your Email List

I’ve got a special growth hack email marketing tip for you this week.

Email marketing may be a dinosaur, but it’s far from extinct.

Don’t think for a minute that email marketing is going away anytime soon.  In fact it’s just the opposite, there’s never been a better time to get started in email marketing.

Your business(es) should have a fairly good size customer base and with it an equal amount of email addresses that you should be emailing at least 3 times per week and in most cases daily.

One of the best ways to use an email list besides emailing the list is to use it as a custom audience with Facebook.

There’s a couple of ways to utilize your email list as a custom audience.

The first way is to use your email list for re-targeting the audience directly through some Facebook ads.

These ads will only reach your previous customers who have purchased from you in the past and is a great way to remind them of your business and increase your customer’s lifetime value.

As you’re probably already aware that not everyone opens and reads your emails even if they’ve made a purchase from you in the past and this can be extremely frustrating when half of your list has a Gmail email address and your emails are not being opened simply because they’re ending up in the SPAM folder.

So by re-targeting your list you’ll have a much better chance of reaching those who you’re not currently reaching through email.

The second way is to use your email list to create a lookalike audience which is an audience that Facebook deems as having similar characteristics and behaviors as your original email list.

Ads targeted to your lookalike audience will reach everyone Facebook lumps into this newly created custom audience.

This type of audience will give you the best possible chance to reach new customers at the lowest possible advertising costs Facebook can provide.

By running ads to this type of audience is a great way to keep replenishing your email list, thus reducing your overall churn rate.

Influencer Marketing: How you can become a Social Media Influencer

Not too long ago Influencer Marketing, more specifically Social Media Influencer, was more of myth than a reality, but the times they are a changin’!

Social media influence marketing is real, very real indeed.

More and more of the big dogs (large corporations) are turning to utilizing Influencer Marketing as one of their primary marketing strategies.

Some of your favorite YouTubers, Instagramers, or Twitterers (is that even a word?) are being approached and paid very well as we speak to sell you something every time you read a tweet, like a photo or watch a video and you probably don’t even realize it.

Here’s the thing, the reason this marketing tactic is so powerful is usually due to reach.  Reach?  Yeah, R-E-A-C-H, REACH!

That means that in order to be a highly sought after Social Influencer you need an audience, but get this it doesn’t have to be BIG.  The size isn’t nearly as important as the engagement the audience has with the Social Influencer.

Now that doesn’t mean that since your mom and all of her friends follow you on Instagram that you’re going to make a bunch of money promoting other business’s products.

However what that does mean is that even if your audience is relatively small, but highly engaged you are far more valuable as a Social Influencer than that of another Social Influencer who has ten times as many followers who really aren’t engaged with their content whatsoever.

So how do you build a highly engaged audience through your social media accounts?

It’s definitely easier said than done, but nonetheless it can be done…However it will not happen overnight unless you’re a Kardashian.

The key to building engagement is to…wait for it…wait for it… “engage”!  What a shocker, right?!

The more each of your followers feels like you’re interested in them, the more interested they will be in you.  It’s essentially the Law of Reciprocity.  It basically says that when someone does something nice for you, you will have a deep-rooted psychological urge to do something nice in return.  As a matter of fact, you may even reciprocate with a gesture far more generous than their original good deed.

Don’t get me wrong it’s not easy to engage with every single follower you have on all of your social media accounts.   In fact it’s nearly, no, it’s actually impossible.  The best you can do is make an effort and work on the followers you have which you believe have the best chance of influencing their own audiences to follow you.

Here’s a few ideas of how you can engage to make your new found followers feel a little special.

Direct message them immediately after they follow you with a “personal message”.  I put personal message in quotes because there’s really no way to do that without doing so manually which again is impossible to due since it’ll take too much time.  So instead you need to setup an automatic direct message that sounds as personal as possible without it actually being written exclusively for them.

Another option is to do a shout out to all followers by tagging them back in a message thanking them for following you.  Unfortunately this also takes time (at least once per day) and depending on the amount of new follower could also be impossible to do.

Luckily there are a few tools out there that help you engage with your audiences.

One such service is Crowd Fire.   It’s an online software as a service (mobile app too) that assists you with sharing, engaging and growing your audiences.

No matter where you are it with your social media accounts it’s never too late to get started.
